The Fifth Of May - Proposal 1 Voting Takes Place Today

So I voted today.

Against the Proposal 1 tax increase, an increase that would be the biggest tax increase in the state since 1967, for many of the same reasons quite cogently explained by Tom McMillin.

I voted in favor of the renewal of my local schools hold-harmless millage. Taxes won't go up and if it is not renewed our district, currently ranked one of the best if not the best in Michigan for results in terms of student performance, will drop to the lowest funded district in the state. This would not be a happy occasion.

Most people I talked to seem to have the same position, but we'll see what the majority of voters decide.

We'll see what we end up with when the results come in.
