The Sweetest Sounding Prop Plane

Is The P-51 Mustang, with its Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

The P-51 is an awesome warbird indeed, and one of the finest fighters of World War 2 and beyond.

Nothing says power and beauty quite like the Merlin-engined Mustang. A very beautiful example.

Great pics so far Aaron, keep 'em coming!

To me, big round engines sound better.
Especially if there is more than one bank.

OldAF Sarge: Thanks, and more are on the way.

jon: Yeah, the big radials have a beautiful sound, but that Merlin is in a class of its own.
